Description: Stunningly beautiful 6 BR, 4.5 bath home includes 3 main level master suites and beds for 16 people. Breathtaking views of the lake and sunsets await you from this 4000 square foot home built and furnished for refined yet relaxed living. The spacious and private main master suite has a vaulted ceiling, sitting area and views of the lake while the other two master suites are also very spacious and finely furnished. Two additional large bedrooms on the lower level with queen/king beds and a shared bath provide relaxed privacy for four more people. A third level gabled bedroom provides privacy and a perfect hideaway with twin and full beds for six more guests.

The large open space living/kitchen/dining area ensures you won’t miss any of the action and provides perfect views of the large level lawn area, lake and boat dock. The kitchen comes wonderfully appointed with everything you need including dishwasher, full size refrigerator (and another in the basement), five burner gas stove, and microwave. A walk-in pantry provides access to all the things you might find in your own kitchen as well as plenty of space to store all your snacks and dry goods for the week.

A wood walkway takes you to an idyllic lake location where you can spend all day on and in the water. Enjoy 300 feet of private shoreline with some of the clearest water in Lake Anna, where you can enjoy the white sand beach and natural sand shoreline, new hardscaping, fire pit, and pergola. The beach with its gentle slope into the water is perfect for the little tykes, and for the older swimmers, they can jump into the 8’ deep water off the end of the dock or paddle around in the two tandem kayaks. Plenty of lawn games and noodles ensure you’ll have fun in or out of the water. After a long day on the lake, you can spend time around the comfortable lakeside fire pit with soft professional night lighting. Tired of swimming? Enjoy pool, Foosball or a movie on the 60 inch LED TV with Blu-Ray in the lower level walkout game room.

Finally, for those times when you’re looking for quiet or reflective time, saunter out to the gazebo and enjoy a morning cup of coffee as you watch the lake come alive, or enjoy conversation under the uniquely covered deck.

Review: Our family (total of 15) had the privilege of staying at the Gables last week for a wonderful vacation. I know that lots of thoughts went into the set up of this home. The Gables bedroom was our dormitory for our boys and they loved the private space. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes and silverware. The walk-in pantry was large enough to store our food supplies, plus the many appliances for the kitchen were there for our use. My family loved the electric coffee pot. The fire pit area was great and the sand beach was loved by our great grand sons. The boathouse was full of lawn games and water items for use. The kayaks were fun also. The shade at the dock was great for when we wanted to get out of the sun or to fish. Our family members said they would all recommend this home to any family to enjoy. Also, Laura and Rachel at Sunset Properties were wonderful to work with.

Review: I really hate to give this home a five star, excellent review, because I feel like we will have trouble getting it once everyone finds out!! Nonetheless, in fairness to the owners, I simply have to share. This was the perfect home for our extended family to enjoy a vacation together. We loved the layout of the house (perfect), the VERY comfortable beds (always important), the perfect sandy beach for the little ones, the well-equipped kitchen, the variety of games and toys, the many seating areas (probably 5 or 6 different places to peacefully go and sit, read, or enjoy the company of one or two others), and the nice lake water. I will have to say it was very hot the week we were there. . . but we adjusted. The morning is the best time to enjoy the lake before the sun hits the little beach. Also, this \"cove\" is SO QUIET! Yay! It is all a \"no wake\" zone back here, so no craziness going on on the lake. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, The Gables is PERFECT. We booked for next year already. There were 6 adults and 4 children. Next year we hope to have 8 adults and 5 children. Superb!

Review: We had a fabulous week at this amazing property! The photos don't really tell the whole story. It's obvious Don & Bitsy have put a great deal of thought and TLC into this house to make it a home. Plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 4 grandbabies under age 5 to spread out and be extremely comfortable. There's a spacious well-planned kitchen and pantry with a huge table for family meals, lots of fun dishes, placemats and silverware along with a great assortment of pots, pans and anything you could need to cook or bake--even a crockpot! The open kitchen/family room was a wonderful gathering place as well as the partly covered deck with ample seating. The bedrooms were large with quality furnishings & linens. Plenty of towels and laundry available. The pool table, foosball, wide screen tv and Nintendo were enjoyable although we spent most of our time outdoors. The water setting was ideal. The boathouse included plenty of noodles, life jackets and outside games to enjoy on the large grassy yard. We used the kayaks several times and rented a pontoon boat as well. The cove is a quiet, no wake zone perfect for swimming, floating and jumping off the dock. The new pergola, fire pit and sandy beach complete the area and were a big hit! Even the neighborhood is quiet with paved roads which were perfect for walking with strollers and letting the little ones ride their scooters. Our only disappointment was that next summer is booked. We loved it all and can't wait to com

Review: We brought 16 of us to the Gables for our family vacation and as soon as we opened the front door, the beauty of the owner's spacious home and the view of the lake immediately melted our stress away! The kitchen and walk-in pantry were appointed with everything we needed to make and serve meals, which we could do while the rest of the family gathered in the open living and dining area. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable and our older kids loved having their own space in the upper gabled bedroom or hanging out downstairs in the game room to play pool or video games. The walk down the wooden path from the house to the lake was easy for all age groups and the sandy beach and gentle slope into the water was perfect for little ones. The beautiful pergola area with the great fire pit was our gathering place each day while the kids swam, fished off the dock, and went kayaking. All of us had a great time and we hated to leave! The owners are wonderful to work with and went out of their way to make sure that their home was in perfect condition especially after a storm hit the area and knocked down some trees onto their property. This rental property is beautiful inside and out and you can feel the pride and care the owners have for their home in every nook and cranny!

Review: We highly recommend The Gables. We celebrated a birthday party at The Gables last weekend and everyone was very impressed with how beautiful and well-maintained the house and property was. The online pictures don't do it justice. The owners and property management company were a real pleasure to work with. Very responsive and flexible. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat. You can't go wrong with this property.

Review: We combined three families connected by three husbands who were college roommates. The women had a fabulous time bonding and cooking Thanksgiving dinner in the spacious well stocked kitchen and envying the large walk in pantry. The men and kids created their own memories playing football in the back yard under the natural tree canopy. All the beds and showers were spacious and provided well deserved nights of rest. Our group capped off our memorable stay sharing s'mores around the fire pit with the glass-like lake and dock as our backdrop. Yep, like I said, a perfect thanksgiving. Can't wait to return to this dream of a home.

Review: This was our 2nd year returning to the beautiful Gables at Lake Anna. We are a group of busy moms that get together once a year. This was our 14th year going away and we are thrilled we have finally found an amazing home to go back to each year to rest, relax, soak up the sun on the great dock, scrapbook a little, kayak, walk, visit local wineries, and just be together! The kitchen pantry is perfectly stocked with serving pieces, the house is clean, and the beds are comfortable. Our favorite part of the entire weekend was relaxing and laughing on the dock. What a peaceful setting! Thank you for sharing your home with us! We look forward to our fall getaway next year!

Review: My company rented out this house for two nights for my team of 10 people. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable and spacious! I felt like I was at a B&B more than I felt like I was just "renting someones house". The bathrooms were all stocked with towels, the kitchen had all of the appliances and dishes we needed and then some! All of the rooms were perfectly decorated and themed. The lot backs up directly to the lake with a massive doc, small beach area and a fit pit where we enjoyed a bonfire one night. There's ample space for parking cars and there's plenty of ourdoor seating areas both on the front and back porch of the house. The property management company was very easy to work with, polite and easy to get in touch with. The ONLY negative about this house would be the neighbors. We had a few people outside at one point in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday (it was around 4pm). We were laying on the doc/swimming and the neighbors called and issued a noise complaint 3 times that afternoon. This isn't something in the owners or property managements control so I cannot' fault the owners for this or lower their score at all, but just something to keep in mind. THANK YOU!

Review: We had a wonderful time at the Gables this past weekend. It must be the best house and the best location on the lake! We were 11 adults, 5 kids over 4 and 2 kids under four. The peaceful cove and beach was perfect for swimming especially with small children. The boat dock was great for our sunfish sailboats and dingy. The secluded big back yard was great for the kids to play in. Also, we were grateful for the low back deck for grandma and the children - few steps and no fear of falling from great heights. We rented a pontoon boat and explored parts of the lake. We all agreed that we didn't see a better place than the Gables. We definitely want to go back!

Review: We enjoyed 2 special weekends back-to-back. The first weekend was with 5 couples and 10 young children 4 years old and younger. The second weekend was with 14 adults for a non-profit organization retreat. The house easily accommodated both groups. The house is wonderful, and has everything you want in a nice house including lots of space, great open floor plan, plenty of seating, lots of pots and pans, nice linens, etc. etc. The water and the boats and the fire pit and the large yard made for many outdoor options in the back yard. The Lake Anna State Park is nearby with beautiful hikes. We loved this place and hope to return for future retreats and weekend getaways! Can't say enough good things about this place and would give it my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a special place to go with a large family or group. :-)

Review: Had a lovely weekend on lake Anna in this house with a bunch of my mommy friends for a kid free weekend! Everything you could possible need for a vacation getaway was at the house (except toliet paper, bring it yourself!). We were able to make 5 scrumptious meals in their beautiful and large kitchen. We had s'mores by the lake. With room enough, in the comfortable living room for 15 mommy's to seat around and dish about being moms. If we decide to do this every year, would come back to this house in a heart beat.

Review: We had a great small family reunion here in early July. The place is very comfortable and came with just about everything you could need for a week long stay. The lake was warm and the yard very spacious for the children to run around. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and the kids had a blast. Almost no TV was watched except by the kids right before bed. The owners and property management company were responsive to all questions and we are looking forward to coming back next year.

Review: We are 5 couples who spent Memorial Day weekend at The Gables with a few of our teenage to 20-something age children. The house was perfect for us. The living areas are spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all lovely. The kitchen and dining area are large enough for the big group and abundantly equipped. The dishes, glassware, flatware, service wear, cooking utensils were all so plentiful and beautiful it made our mealtimes even more special. The toys...especially the pool table and kayaks were a big hit. The covered deck area was so comfortable and the dock area was perfect. It was so nice to have plenty of seating available everywhere...in the house, on the deck, at the dock. Having linens and towels provided was also nice, especially the towels! The lake location is quiet and picturesque. The yard is big enough for throwing a ball or Frisbee around with a very pleasant planked walk to the dock. We have been coming to Lake Anna for 15+ years and this is the best house we have ever rented...by far! We have already booked for next year.

Review: We recently spent a week at the Gables celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with our 4 adult children, spouses and grandchildren ( kids ages ranging from 6 months to 17 years old~ and 3 in their early 20's who came for our anniversary party). It was everything we had hoped it would be! It's been difficult to find a location and adequate lodging for a family of our size but this place turned out perfect! We had room for everyone and tons of things to do without leaving the property! Kayaking, campfires and smores, puzzles and games on the deck, baggo, and other lawn games as well as plenty of time spent in the rec room with our grandchildren playing pool and fooseball. There was also plenty of room for seating at meal time, which is a challenge for our size group. The description of the property was very accurate and was exceptionally maintained. The owners were delightful to work with and hopefully in the future we'll be back to enjoy it again ( The fact that pets were not allowed gave us the peace of mind for some of our 'allergy' family members that they would not have a problem.) It was a very relaxing, enjoyable time with lots of family pictures and time to build memories. We did not scout out nearby activities as there were too many things to do there. We all just enjoyed getting caught up with each other! Thank you Don and Bitsy for sharing your lovely home with us! It was a winner!

Review: We have rented vacation homes for years and we decided this is one of the best if not the best. The location is quiet but close enough to things you need and of course the wineries! The house was very clean and extremely well stocked. We spent alot of time swimming and the lake water is clean and was very warm. The boat house was the perfect place to have coffee, spend afternoons and sipping our wine at night. There is not one negative about this house and we slipped into a state of depression when we had to leave. The owners have been extremely helpful and kind. We highly recommend this house except on the week we want to rent it!! Thanks Donald and Bitsy!

Review: We LOVE The Gables! We stayed here for a second year (and have already booked for next year) because it is the perfect lake house getaway for our dispersed family to come together each summer. Bitsy and Don have really gone out of their way to make it a beautiful vacation home retreat and not just a random summer rental. It has all the things needed to really relax comfortably (utensils, kitchen appliances, pots/pans, towels, games, books, puzzles, sea kayaks). We literally couldn’t ask for a better set-up and have all agreed that we want to make The Gables a summer tradition! We gathered with my parents, siblings, spouses and grandkids ranging from 72 to 4 months old and it was perfect. There is always someone eating so love the open kitchen/dining room/living room so everyone can hang out together. The long table allows a chair for everyone at family meals and the countertop/bar stools is convenient for the kiddos for smaller meals and snack time. The couches and chairs are cozy and perfect for lounging, afternoon naps, and family game night! The ensuite bedrooms on the main level give everyone some private space and helps make bath time more efficient. The downstairs area with pool table, fuse ball table, and TV/family room area offers fun activities when everyone needs a break from the water and sun and the bedrooms down there are quiet places for the babies (and grown ups) to nap. The kids were thrilled to have their own “kids’ room” above the garage a

Review: Fifteen of us stayed at this property for a long weekend. The house is clean and in good shape. We enjoyed being on the dock and using the fire pit. The pool table and video games were also a hit. The number of bathrooms is great for a group. Our only minor hiccups were that the wood provided by the realty group was too wet to burn for the first two nights and the power went out abruptly once during our stay. Also note that those in the bedroom with the single beds do not have a bathroom on their floor and must go down a flight of stairs to get to the bathroom and the tv in the living room is very small. Overall, a great stay!
